MQP at the Workplace World Cup

A group from the Customer Service/Sales teams (Steve Kendrick, Sam Moore, Ryan McMillan, Luke Sharpe, Paul Cross, Michael White, Steph Grant, Ceara Fairbrother and Chloe Grice) took part in the Workplace world cup that was organised by Leicestershire and Rutland Sport to promote well being and being more active for office based workers. Teams came from various councils and around the county along with other businesses.   It took place at Brockington College in Enderby on June 6th.  The group moved round different activities that included, Rounders, Handball, Netball Goal Shooting and Crazy Cricket Catch to name but a few.  The idea was to score points along the way for your team, our team finished in joint 9th place overall.
Steve Kendrick commented “The spirit within the team and teams that we were competing against was exceptional and all were a credit to their companies, there was a willingness to do well but with a smile which was evident to see.”
After the indoor games the team ventured outside to compete in three games of volleyball, winning two and losing the 3rd, they then played one game of rounders which they won, finally they competed in three games of handball which resulted in two loses and a draw.  Although it was a disappointing end to the evening losing the games of handball the team had performed so well for the whole evening and the togetherness of the team was so pleasing to see.  There will definitely be involvement from MQP at other events as the whole team had such fun taking part in such a worth while event.
