Although there have been quarrying operations at Groby since the early 1900's the current plant was built and commissioned in Feb 2002.

The plant replaces one that operated on the site for over thirty years and is a modular low-level batch heater asphalt plant.

The plant supplies a full range of macadam's and hot rolled asphalts (see product catalogue) predominantly to the collect market, Six days a week - Monday to Saturday.

Groby obtains its aggregates from Cliffe Hill Quarry in Leicestershire.

The site is a member of the QPA Good Neighbour Scheme and pays particular attention to community liaison and reducing the environmental impact of its operations. It has BS EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management and ISO 9001 Quality Management Accreditation.
