On Monday 1st Oct a Buzzard was spotted behind the netting high on the face in New CLiffe Hill above the tunnel. It had somehow become trapped behind the netting and was stressed. A crane and basket were used to gain access to the bird and it was freed from behind the netting, but it had deteriorated to such a state that it would not fly away. It was taken to a local animal sanctuary (where it was expected that they would say it was a lost cause) but we heard news that it is doing well, is expected to make a full recovery and is being moved to more specialist centre to recover and to ensure it does not become accustomed to human contact.
