Job Description:

Midland Quarry Products Ltd (MQP) is a highly successful wholly owned subsidiary of Hanson UK operating predominantly across the East & West Midlands aggregate and asphalt markets.

MQP’s strategy is to give its customers what they want when we promise it and to minimize
our impact on the environment. To achieve this it is essential that we have the systems and
processes in place to ensure that we consistently produce the highest quality asphalt
products. MQP is also committed to the development of new asphalt products to help us
remain at the forefront of our industry.

This role reports to the Head of Technical/MQP Director and recognises the importance of the technical
function in achieving our strategy.
Responsibilities will include:

Defining and implementing MQP’s Technical Strategy
Leading the technical department to support MQP’s strategy
Management of the Quality and Environmental Management Systems across the
business to ensure we produce the highest quality of products
Leading the development of new products to respond to the needs of our customers
Ensuring close control of all production processes, particularly asphalt, to optimise
the use of all raw materials
Provide quality and technical input to MQP’s senior management team
Management of customer complaint process with root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence
Management of Health Safety across the Technical Team
Representing MQP on Industry Technical Forums

The ideal candidate will have management experience within the asphalt and aggregate
sector.
