The Big Switch Off!

Here at MQP we have signed up to the Footprints Challenge with North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC).
The Footprints Challenge is a year-long series of 'green' themed events to be held during 2008/09. The challenge aims to raise the profile of five key issues.

Carbon reduction

Travel

Energy

Biodiversity

Waste reduction and recycling

Over the course of the Challenge we aim to take action to improve our environmental performance and reduce our carbon footprint.

As part of the Foot Prints Challenge we have just taken part in the Big Switch Off campaign.

It is a county-wide campaign that encourages everyone to switch off electrical items that aren't being used or that have been left on stand-by.

The Big Switch Off was on Friday 17th October from 4.30-6.30pm

During the Big Switch Off we encouraged staff to reduce energy consumption and hopefully help reduce energy bills.

It proved to be a big success and we hope that we can continue to be aware of where we can reduce our energy comsumption both at work and at home.
